“Shironamhin Rabindranath” to be released on Eid

Shironamhin's fourth studio album, which features rock interpretations of Rabindra Sangeet, will be released on the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr. Titled “Shironamhin Rabindra-nath”, the album will be launched under the banner of Laser Vision.
With their signature style and thematic lyrics, Shironamhin has already won over many music enthusiasts across the country. Three albums -- “Jahaji”, “Ichchhe Ghuri” and “Bondho Janala” -- released so far by the band are very popular among the young music lovers.
With their fourth album, the band takes up the challenge to impress both the Rabindra Sangeet aficionados and rock music fans through articulating the ever-lasting messages of Tagore.
“Many of our fans, particularly teenagers, are not that familiar with Rabindra Sangeet. The album is an attempt to generate interest in Tagore among the young audience,” said Zia, bass guitarist and leader of the band.
The album features nine Tagore songs, both popular and lesser known. The songs are: “Gram Chhara Oi Ranga Matir Poth,” “Sawana Gaganey Ghor Ghanaghata,” “Purano Shei Din-er Kotha,” “Kichhu Bolbo Boley Eshechhilem,” “Shudu Tomar Bani Noy,” “Jetey Jetey Ekla Pothey,” “Shokatorey Oi Kandi-chhey,” “Phooley Phooley” and “Tumi Ki Keboli Chhobi”.
Like previous albums, the upcoming CD will also feature an interesting cover design. On the album cover, the crew appears around Tagore, as disciples.
Zia informed that the upcoming album features at least 30 instruments played by a number of guest musicians. The album would be released in Kolkata during the upcoming Durga Puja, according to the band. Kolkata-based Asha Audio has shown interest in releasing the album there, said Zia.
The band takes a strong stand against all kinds of piracy and says that it would be impossible for them to release another album if the onslaught of piracy continues.
