Three killed in road accidents

Three people were killed in separate road accidents in Nilphamari and Thakurgaon on Tuesday and yesterday.
Our Nilphamari correspondent reports: Two people were killed in separate road accidents on Jaldhaka-Burimari road in Nilphamari on Tuesday night.
The deceased were identified as Afzal Hossain, 58, son of Monsur Ali of Purbo Balagram village in Jaldhaka upazila and Noor Alam, 13, son of Jhumur Ali of Dakkhin Sonakhuli village in Dimla upazila.
In an accident, a truck ran over Afzal at Balagram Chowrangi point around 8:00pm.
Local people chased the truck and intercepted it at Kakra Choupothy in Dimla upazila and handed over the driver to police.
In another accident, a truck hit Noor when he was crossing the road at Chapani Haat point at around 9:30pm, leaving him dead on the spot.
Police seized the truck but the driver managed to flee.
Our correspondent from Thakurgaon adds: A boy was killed in a road accident on Baliadangi-Ranishankoil road yesterday near Nekmarad Bazar in Ranishankoil upazila.
The victim was identified as Robiul Islam, 13, son of Rafiqul Islam of Chandanchahat village of the same upazila.
Police said the accident took place at about 8:00am when a Ranishakoil-bound bus hit a bicycle leaving the boy dead on the spot.
