Sheikh Kamal's anniversary of birth today

Today is the 61st birth anniversary of Sheikh Kamal, the eldest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and younger brother of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, says a press release.
Kamal, born on this day in 1949 at Tungipara in Gopalganj, is the founder of the Abahani Limited.
Ruling Awami League has chalked out daylong programmes to mark the day. The programmes include discussion on the life of Sheikh Kamal, milad mahfil, painting competition for children and distribution of Sheikh Kamal gold medals for special achievers for Abahani Club.
AL will place wreaths at Kamal's portrait on Abahani Club premises at 8:00am and at his grave in Banani at 9:00am.
A reception will be accorded to the winning football and hockey teams on the Abahani Club premises in the afternoon. Sheikh Hasina is expected to attend the function as the chief guest. Hasina is also the chief patron and founder member of the Abahani Club.
Sheikh Kamal was one of the organisers of the Mukti Bahini. After getting commission in Bangladesh Army he worked as the ADC to Commander-in-Chief General MA Osmani during the War of Liberation.
Kamal was killed along with most of his family members by a group of army personnel on August 15, 1975.
