Domestic help kills self

A teenaged domestic help allegedly committed suicide by hanging at Aga Sadeque Road of Bangshal in the city on Monday night.
Bangshal police recovered the body of Halima Akhter, 17 from the second floor flat of her master at 11:00pm Monday.
Police sent the body to Sir Salimullah Medical College morgue for autopsy yesterday morning.
Earlier, a domestic help, Asma Akter, 15 allegedly committed suicide at Pallabi in the city on Monday.
Bangshal police station sub-inspector (SI) Shahidullah said both the tenant of the flat Mostaque Ahmed, a garments worker and his wife Parveen Begum, an NGO worker returned home at 10:30pm.
They found the flat closed from inside. They broke open the doors and found the body of Halim was hanging from the ceiling of the house with a scarf. They brought down the body and informed the matter to the police.
During interrogation, the couple told the police that as both of them are service holders they keep their one-year-old child with the housemaid.
