College girl drowns in Padma

A college girl drowned in the Padma River in Sadipur area under Sadar upazila yesterday
Victim Manjura Azmin was a second year commerce student of Saroda Sundari Government Mohila College in Faridpur town.
Daughter of Liakot Mia, owner of Mita Glass House in Faridpur town, Manjura, her younger sister Tanzia and four other students of the college went to Sadipur Bridge area in a tempo (three-wheeler) at around 1:00pm.
Manjura drowned as she along with two other students got into the river to take bath.
Hearing scream of her sister Tanzia, one Abu Bakkar of Sadipur area, who was sitting at a tea stall adjacent to Sadipur bridge, and the tempo driver rushed to the scene and rescued her.
They took Manjura to Faridpur General Hospital where the doctors declared her dead.
The body was sent to Faridpur Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. An unnatural death case was lodged with Kotwali Police Station.
