CUJ programmes to implement wage board

Journalists at a rally here announced a five-day programmes demanding implementation of the 7th Wage Board Award in all dailies in the port city.
Chittagong Union of Journalists (CUJ) organised the rally on the premises of Chittagong Press Club with CUJ President Shahidul Alam in the chair.
The programmes include two-hour token strike from June 8 to June 10 (6:00am-8:00pm) and work abstention on June 12. The programmes to be observed in the daily Azadi, the daily Purbokone and the daily Bir Chattagram Mancha.
Secretary General of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) Altaf Mahmud, Chittagong Press Club President Abu Sufian, General Secretary Rashed Rowf, CUJ General Secretary Nazim Uddin Shyamal, journalist leaders Arun Das Gupta, Omar Kaiser, Divakar Ghush, Asif Siraj, M Nasirul Huq, Mustak Ahmed, Ezaz Yousufi,
Swapan Mahazan and Samir Bhattacharya spoke on the occasion.
Mayoral candidate ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury, former minister Abdullah Al Noman, Jafrul Islam Chowdhury, MP, Awami league leader MA Salam, Advocate Ibrahim Hossain Babul, Chittagong District Bar President Advocate Rezaul Karim, Teacher Association General Secretary Fawzul Kabir, Prof Abu Taher Chowdhury, Prof Helal Nizami and Engineer Delwar Mojumder expressed solidarity with the journalists.
