Twenty Ten and a collage of thoughts

It's a brand new year. Twenty ten: 2010. “New year is a new chapter in life. First day is like any day for me cause everyday is like a celebration for me. Life is short, must value every moment,” said Aneela Haque, a fashion designer.
Most of you readers out there probably have your own points of view about this special day, but many of you would like to know what your favourite artistes are doing this day or get their feedback on the start of a new year.
Before we talk about the new year, let's talk about the 'old' year, that is 2009 and let's see how it was for some of them.
Tisha: Last year there was a lot of excitement about my film. This year, I want to work harder for something as good, to give something to the viewers.
Lumin (Feedback): Last year we just chilled. A new year would mean new work.
Prova: New year is important because we make it important. there are a lot of emotions and expectations attached to this day, so we celebrate it.
When that has been said, what does the words 'new year' mean to most of them?
Debashish Biswas: New year means living anew, planning anew. And talking in the sense of the profession I am in, it means making new programmes.
Elita: So many things.. was the reply.
Elita shares with us a small quotation by Abraham Maslow: “A musician must make music, an artist must paint, a poet must write, if he is to be ultimately at peace with himself.”
So true. Most of these artistes would be doing the things that makes all of you so fond of them. Elita also has a special wish. “One thing that I would like to do on New Year's Eve 2010, is go over my resolutions and make a small prayer to actually follow them!”
Talk about resolutions, if you think about new year-this is a word that must come to mind. However Fuad has another take on this: Making resolutions is just a culture. As Fuad would agree, “Although we try to make resolutions, they may last a month or two but that's it. Then we are back to square one.”
Same is Apurbo's reply. According to him, “New year is nothing special, but just a reason to celebrate and a hope to begin anew.”
The best thing about the start of a year is the recharge of spirits, something like the effect metal and rock music have on listeners. It keeps your spirits up and gets you going. Lets hear it from the rockers themselves:
Anan: It means my second solo album that is “Anan:2010”.
Jahan (Black): Jan 1st is the birthday of earth in the Roman context, celebrated globally in the capitalist western culture and media invaded regions. Wishing everyone another year of survival against poverty, corruption, ignorance and global warming.
Cezanne (Artcell): New Year means a lot of new vows, new targets and learning from the past. 2010 means third album, live concert DVD, so it should be a happening year.
However Mizan (Warfaze) has something different to say, “New year is just like every other day. It doesn't bring me much joy but rather the opposite because it means that another day, another year is about to fade away.”
Whichever of the opinions you agree to, one thing is undeniable and that is all of these words are true.
