2 BNP men held for snatching

A case was filed with Kalaroa police station yesterday against three BNP leaders including Kalaroa Pourasava commissioner for snatching Tk 1,32,000 from a young man at a college hostel at the upazila headquarters.
Two of the accused were arrested yesterday evening. They are Pourasava commissioner Azizul Haque and Nazrul Islam.
The other accused--Bazlur Rahmanis hiding since the incident, police said.
Police recovered Tk 90,000 out of the snatched money from the house of Azizul Haque at Murarikati village last night, police said.
Party sources said Azizul Haque and Nazrul Islam are members of Kalaroa upazila BNP committee while Bazlur Rahman is a party activist.
Police said Sohel Hossain, son of Abedur Rahman of Sadipur village in Sharsha upazila in Jessore, stayed at his friend's room at Kalaroa Sheikh Amanullah College hostel with Tk 132,000.
The three BNP men came to know about it, went there and snatched the money, police said.
Following a complaint by the victim, police arrested Azizul Haque and Nazrul Islam. They confessed to their involvement in the snatching.
Officer-in-charge of Kalaroa police station Farid Uddin said a case was filed and they were trying to nab the other accused.
