NSU: the Battle of Minds 2009 champion

North South University emerged as the champion of the Battle of Minds 2009, said a statement.
The grand finale of the real-life business case solving competition organised by British American Tobacco (BAT) Bangladesh held on Monday at Radisson Water Garden Hotel in Dhaka.
American International University of Bangladesh and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology teams became the first and second runners up respectively.
The other teams that made it to the finals were Institute of Business Administration of Dhaka University, East West University and Chittagong University.
As many as 186 participants from 12 universities across the country took part in this year's event, involving business case idea generation, market visit, research and presentation.
Ahsan H Mansur, executive director of Policy Research Institute, was the chief guest at the final event.
Mansur lauded BAT Bangladesh's role for providing university students a unique opportunity to interact with the corporate world.
“Battle of Minds is truly the showcase competition of graduating students of Bangladesh, providing the aspiring future leaders with a platform to showcase their entrepreneurial acumen,” said Alan Davy, managing director of BAT Bangladesh.
“Since 2004, we have been hosting the event for university's final year students. The competition is now been replicated by the other BAT companies in South Korea, Malaysia and Pakistan.”
Syed Imtiaz Faruque, head of human resources of BAT Bangladesh, said Battle of Minds helps talented young individuals in their grooming and preparedness to enter the corporate world.
Golam Mainuddin, chairman, was also present at the function.
Ziaul Karim, editor of Ice Today, Shama R Alam, group finance director of Duncan Brothers (Bangladesh) Ltd, Akku Chowdhury, executive director of Transcom Foods Ltd, and Syed Imtiaz Faruque, were the judges for the final event.
This year's competition spanned over a period of one month.
