Udichi’s anniversary celebration across the country

Marking the 41st founding anniversary of Udichi, Mymensingh unit of Udichi Shilpi Goshthi organised a programme at the premises of City Collegiate School in the district town recently. The programme included a colourful rally, discussion and performances.
Artistes of Udichi displayed their skills at a musical soiree, dance sequence and drama. Swapon Sarker, Bijoy Dey, Shampa, Jayanti Biswas Jolly, Sweety Ghosh, Tumpa Dey, Rupa Sarker, Aruna Karmakar, Nusrat Jahan, Mukta Sarker, Manash Talukder, Kanchan Nag and Konkon Nag participated in the cultural programme. Earlier a procession was brought out in the main thoroughfares of the town.
A discussion was held with Advocate AHM Khalequzzaman, president of Udichi's local unit, in the chair. Chief guest Professor Jatin Sarker, former president of Udichi central unit, inaugurated the programme.
Among the speakers were Advocate Emdadul Haque Millat, Yeazdani Koraishi Kajol, Abdul Motaleb Lal, Motahar Hossain, Gouranga Aditya and A.K.M Mujibur Rahman Mithun.
In the course of the discussion, the speakers asserted that Udichi, a progressive cultural organisation, has always been at the forefront of social and political movements in the country. Udichi, a non-communal cultural organisation, believes that music can play a strong role against oppression and misdeeds caused by vested quarters both in political arena and society, said the speakers adding that Udichi will continue to render its service for distressed humanity in future.
Committed to the well being of the people and society, Bangladesh Udichi Shilpi Goshthi was established by Satyen Sen on October 29, 1968 in the wake of the mass uprising against autocracy. Later its activities spread throughout the country turning it into a powerful cultural organisation.

Bangladesh Udichi Shilpi Goshthi, Faridpur unit, recently celebrated its founding anniversary at Swadhinata Mancha in the town.
The programme included a discussion, recitation and a rendition of gano sangeet.
In the course of the function, the discussants said that Udichi has worked tirelessly towards a society based on equality and justice. Fundamentalist groups have been raising their heads increasingly, which are impediments to cultural activities in the country. Every member of society should unite to battle these evil forces, they said.
The speakers at the function were Professor Abdul Motaleb, Abu Sufian Chowdhury, Shawkot Ali Zahid, Belayet Hossain and Advocate Touhidul Islam Stalin. Dr. Shushanto Kumar Biswas, president of Udichi, Faridpur unit was in the chair.
Artistes of Faridpur Udichi Shilpi Goshthi rendered impressive solo and chorus gono sangeet on the occasion, while Faridpur Abriti Sangshad presented poetry recitation. A sizeable and enthusiastic audience turned out for the programme.
