Samakal publisher files GD

The daily Samakal's Publisher AK Azad yesterday filed a general diary with Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station, seeking security in the wake of the recent harassment and provocations by Bashundhara Group.
On his behalf, Ha-Meem Group Manager Mohammad Golam Kibria registered the GD (No. 1080).
He said Azad fears Bashundhara Group may threaten his life and implicate him in false cases.
The GD mentions that Samakal, a Bangla national daily, found itself on the receiving end of the Bashundhara authorities' wrath after it ran a story headlined 'Trial of Sabbir killing and bribery case to begin' and another under heading 'Bashundhara on land-grabbing spree in Keraniganj'.
