Concern over remarks by some retired army men

The Retired Armed Forces Officers' Welfare Association (Raowa) have expressed concern over recent remarks made by some retired army officers who are involved in politics.
"With great concern, we have been observing lately that a few retired armed forces officers involved in politics are passing unhealthy remarks on past controversial issues occurred while in service, which are directly undermining and degrading the pride, prestige and honour of our retired armed forces officer's image and creating confusion in the mind of common people," Raowa said in a statement yesterday.
Regretting the matter, it also appealed to all retired army officers involved in politics to refrain from making any unhealthy remarks.
"We and the common people of this country earnestly hope and expect that our retired armed forces officers involved in politics shall uphold the glorious pride and prestige of the uniform and work towards the development of the nation which shall make us all proud and happy," said the statement signed by Raowa Secretary General Col (retd.) Abul Fazal Mohammad Khaled.
