Charjanajat-mawa Route

2 Ro-Ro ferries operate from today

With opening of two Ro-Ro ferries on Charjanajat-Mawa route across the Padma River today, road communications of 21 south-western districts with Dhaka are expected to be much easier and faster.
Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation placed two landing jetties and pontoons at these points as Maj Gen MA Matin (rtd) will inaugurate the service of these two Ro-Ro ferries named Hazrat Shah Ali (R) and Bhasha Shahid Barkat today.
In addition to easing traffic jam on the two sides of Dauladia-Paturia ferry route, new ferry services on Mawa-Charjanajat route will lessen 31 to 150 kilometres road distances on routes between Dhaka and other 21 districts of south and western region of the country, said BIWTC and Roads and Highways Department sources.
