New chairman appointed to Janata Bank

Shaikh Md Wahid-uz-Zaman, outgoing principal secretary to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), has been appointed chairman of state-owned Janata Bank.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina signed Zaman's appointment letter yesterday, a PMO official preferring anonymity told The Daily Star.
Prior to working with the PMO, Zaman also served as the secretary to the ministries of water resources, information and communications technology, and as executive director of Bangladesh Bridges Division.
He was also the chairman of Centre for Environment Geographic Information Services and Institute of Water Modelling.
Zaman was the senior adviser to the institute for policy, advocacy and governance prior to his new appointment.
