Netrakona BNP rebel candidate man gunned down

Supporters of a BNP-backed candidate gunned down an activist of a rebel candidate of the party for March 23 election in Madan upazila of Netrakona over tearing off a poster this morning.

Genu Miah, 35, was an activist of the party’s rebel candidate, Additional Superintendent of police Delwar Hossain confirmed this to The Daily Star.

Detail of the clash was not known immediately.

The victim was shot dead at one stage of the clash that erupted around 11:30am, our Netrakona correspondent reports quoting the police official.
