The High Court today granted ad-interim bail for four weeks to the parents-in-law of actress Nayar Sultana in a case filed on charge of her killing.
The body of Sultana, who played Tuni, a young girl in the popular drama serial "EiShob Din Ratri" on Bangladesh Television in 1990s, was recovered from her house at the capital's Gulshan on October 16.
Her father-in-law Amin Ali and mother-in-law Yeasmin Amin today appeared before the HC bench of Justice Syed AB Mahmudul Huq and Justice Md Akram Hossain Chowdhury for bail in the case.
After hearing a bail petition, the bench granted them bail for four weeks, on the ground that there was no allegation against them of being involved in killing her in the case, Deputy Attorney General Bashir Ullah told The Daily Star.
He said there is an allegation against Amin and Yeasmin of provoking to Sultana to kill herself, and any accused in such allegation can get bail.
Sultana’s husband Al-Amin was arrested few hours into the incident as her mother Razia Sultana lodged the case with Gulshan Police Station.
