One more victim of Narayanganj mosque blast dies; death toll now 26

One more person, who suffered severe injuries in the blast at a Narayanganj mosque, died last night while undergoing treatment at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, raising the death toll to 26.

Monir Farazi (30), son of Sobhan Farazi of Baroghoria village in Barishal's Bakerganj upazila, breathed his last around 11:15pm, hospital sources confirmed.

The tragic explosion happened at Pashchim Talla Baitus Salam Mosque of Narayanganj around 8:45pm after Esha prayers on Friday.

There has been widespread allegation that the explosion was caused by gas that leaked from underground pipeline and accumulated inside the ground floor of the mosque.

Three committees have been formed to investigate the incident so far.
