A naraji (no confidence) petition was submitted before a Dhaka court challenging the charge sheet in Milky murder case, which was earlier submitted dropping the name of seven accused including the main one.

Maj Rashedul Haq Khan, brother of Jubo League leader Riazul Haque Khan Milky and also complainant of the murder case, submitted the petition before the court saying that the investigation officer of the case submitted the charge sheet dropping the names of seven accused.

On April 15, the Rapid Action Battalion pressed charges against 11 people, mostly Jubo League men, in the case.

Milky, an organising secretary of Dhaka city (south) Jubo League, was gunned down on the night of July 30 last year in front of a shopping mall in the capital's Gulshan.

In today’s petition, Rashedul appealed to the court to make necessary steps for further probing by Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Metropolitan Magistrate Tarek Mainul Islam Bhuiyan fixed June 17 for hearing on the petition.

Rashedul filed a murder case on the night of murder against 11 named and four to five unnamed people.

Zahidul Islam Tipu, general secretary of Motijheel thana Awami League, and Wahidul Alam Arif, general secretary of Dhaka city (south) Jubo League, has been prime accused in the case.

Six of the accused are in jail and five are on the run.
