Muslims celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr

People in Bangladesh celebrated the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of the Muslims, across the country on Tuesday.
The festival was celebrated on the first day of Shawal of 1435 Hizri, an Arabic month that comes after 30 days of self control and purification during the month of Ramadan.
The government has taken elaborate programmes to observe the Eid across the country with due solemnity and religious fervour.
Meanwhile, millions of city-dwellers have left the capital and other major cities to celebrate Eid with their near and dear ones in the countryside.
Some 668 more Eid congregations was held at different areas in Dhaka city. 
The biggest congregation was held at the Sholakia Eidgah field in Kishoreganj.
Law enforcing agencies including the police and Rapid Action Battalion remained on guard to ensure security at Eid congregations.
A three-day government holiday started Monday.
Newspapers will remain closed till July 31.
