With just days left for the announcement of Bangladesh’s World Cup team, Test skipper Mushfiqur Rahim sustained shoulder injuries during practice sessions today.

However, the extent of his injuries could not be known but he has been advised for full bed rest for the time being, officials at the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said.

Mushfiqur will be scanned on Saturday to determine the extent of his injuries, Dr Debashish Chowdhury, senior physician at the BCB, told The Daily Star.

Until then, it is uncertain as to whether the batsman cum wicketkeeper will make it to the Tigers’ squad for the World Cup, he added.

The cricket World Cup is expected to begin in Australia and New Zealand from February 14. The BCB is expected to announce the Tigers’ squad for the World Cup in a few days.
