Mujibur's judicial statement yet to be recorded

Police are yet to take any initiative for recording the statements of Sunamganj BNP leader Mujibur Rahman and his chauffeur Rezaul in court although the two were brought to the district town from the capital on Wednesday midnight.

The two had gone missing in Sylhet on May 4. The abductors released them in Tongi of Gazipur on Monday.

"During the last three days, we have taken statements from the two and now these are being thoroughly checked. Hopefully, they would be produced before court tomorrow," Additional Superintendent of Police in Sunamganj Hemayetul Islam said yesterday.

Hemayet brought them from the capital.

However, under police custody, Mujibur spent Friday night at his house, he said.
