US Ambassador in Dhaka Dan W Mozena met with BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia this evening at her Gulshan office.
The meeting started around 8:15pm and ended 9:15pm, BNP chairperson’s media wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan told The Daily Star.
Issues including the country’s latest political situation, January 5 elections, the US’ stance on the polls and Sheikh Hasina-led government, post-election violence against minorities, the post-polls political situation were discussed at the meeting , BNP insiders said.
This was the first meeting of the US envoy with the BNP chief after the January 5 controversial national election.
On December 31 last year, the US envoy met the BNP chief at her residence when the Hasina government virtually kept her under house arrest ahead of the 10th parliamentary polls.
