A Dhaka court today rejected the bail petitions of three top BNP leaders including Moudud Ahmed in a case filed over Hefajat-e Islam's May 5 mayhem in the capital.

MK Anwar and Rafiqul Islam Mia are the other BNP leaders who got bail in the case.

Judge Md Zahirul Haque of the Court of Metropolitan Sessions Judge's rejected the bail petitions of the top BNP leaders after holding hearing on the appeals.

The leaders were shown arrested in the case on January 6.

In the same case, BNP chairperson's special assistant Shimul Biswas secured bail from the High Court on Tuesday after his lawyer submitted a bail petition challenging a lower court's bail rejection order.
