More cops to be deployed at Sadarghat

Cabinet Committee on Law and Order today decided to deploy additional police forces at the Sadarghat launch terminal to check extra passengers on board ahead of the Eid-ul-Azha.
Industry Minister, Amir Hossain Amu told reporters after a meeting of the committee held at the Secretariat in Dhaka this evening.
Amu said plain clothes law enforcers already have been deployed at the launch terminal and they are keeping close watch to avert untoward incident.
“People now are not afraid of plain clothes police. So, additional uniformed police forces will be deployed to check overloading,” he added.
Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan, State Minister for Home Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and others attended the meeting with Amu in the chair.
