The defense counsel of death sentenced Brahmanbaria Awami Legaue leader Mobarak Hossian was dissatisfied with the verdict delivered by the war crimes tribunal today.

“Justice was not served. We will appeal to the Supreme Court. We believe we can prove our point to the Appellate Division and then the apex court will clear Mobarak Hossain of all charges,” said Tajul Islam, defense counsel of Mobarak.

Mobarak was handed death for killing 33 unarmed civilians in Tanmandayl of Akhaura. He was given life for murdering Abdul Khaleque.

“Locals of Tanmandayl did not testify in this case because they know he is an honest person. My client is confident in this regard,” Tajul Islam said after the verdict.

In response to the verdict, Mobarok’s Elder son Asad Ullah told reporters that the court denied them justice and they will move the apex court with an appeal.
