Missing BNP leader rescued

UK expatriate BNP leader Mujibur Rahman and his car driver were rescued this evening from Tongi in Gazipur on the outskirts of the capital over three months after they went missing from Sunamganj.

Contacted, Superintendent of Police in Sunamganj Harunur Rashid said he had been informed by the family that Mujibur was due to be released from the captivity this evening.

He added that he came to know around 8:00pm about the release of the BNP leader. The police officer however did not give any detail about the process of the release.

Mujibur was later admitted to the United Hospital in the capital.

Mujibur along with his car driver reportedly went missing on May 4.

The father details were not available instantly.
