10 abducted Bangladeshi expatriates rescued in Libya

The 110 migrants from different countries, including 10 Bangladeshis, who were abducted in Libya for ransom, have been rescued from a remote town in the country.

A team of Libya Army conducted drives in the country's southern desert town Bani Waled recently and rescued them from the kidnapping gang, sources at Bangladesh embassy in Tripoli said.

After the release of the abducted Bangladeshis, embassy's charge of affairs Gazi Md Asaduzzaman Kabir met them, took information about their physical condition and confirmed their identities.

They are Madaripur's Md Jayed Biswas, Adnan Titu, Juwel Hawlader, Enamul Sheikh, Emon Hossain and Shahidul Hawlader, Kishoreganj's Ali Asgar and Rahim Hasan, Md Himel of Shariatpur and Shahjalal Munshi of Faridpur. All of them are aged between 20-24.

 The embassy also provided them with necessary assistance.

In a Facebook post, the 444th Brigade of Libya Army said they rescued the abducted migrants after conducting drives in 17 dens of human traffickers and kidnappers in Bani Waled town.
