Md Mokammel Hossain takes charge as secretary of civil aviation ministry

Md Mokammel Hossain has taken charge as the new secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.

A member of the 10th BCS Administration Cadre, Mokammel Hossain previously served as additional secretary in the Ministry of Public Administration, Civil Aviation Ministry said in a release today.

On December 24, the Ministry of Public Administration appointed him as the Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

Former senior secretary at the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism M Mohibul Haque has retired after completing his one year contract on January 5.

Mokammel Hossain joined the Civil Service in 1991 and served as Assistant Commissioner and Magistrate in the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Khulna District. He later served in the BCS Academy of Administration and the Secretariat of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission.

He has also served as joint secretary and assistant secretary in various ministries including Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, Ministry of Food, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment and Department of Economic Relations.

He had served in the Prime Minister's Office as Private Secretary to the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister. He had also served outside the country: First Secretary (Labour) at the Bangladesh High Commission in Singapore and Counselor (Labour) at the Bangladesh Consulate General in Jeddah.

He had served as additional secretary in the SDG Co-ordinator's Office of the Prime Minister's Office.

He received the 'Special Performance Award' as the best Labour Counselor while serving at the Bangladesh Consulate General Office in Jeddah.
