It seems as though Shakib Al Hasan can do nothing wrong at this point in time. Ever since his return from disciplinary suspension, Shakib has been experiencing arguably one of the best phases of his career.
As a result, aside from the captains, he has been the most regular face representing the Bangladesh team in the press conferences.

When asked if he was bored of the routine, he jokingly replied, “When I was captain I had to come to press conferences every day… but yes it feels good to come for these reasons.”
On a more serious note though, Shakib attributed his growing 'maturity' as the reason behind his recent performances.

“I don't think it's the difference in training. But the one thing that I feel is that I am becoming a bit more mature now and it comes as you grow older.
“It's difficult to speak specifically on this topic but I can feel it now. Now I feel that I am calmer, especially while batting today and throughout the Test series. I was relaxed and calm. I think this was something that I noticed,” explained the all-rounder.
Furthermore, the left-hander said he regrets not having been able to perform this way before.
“Maturity is important. I think that works inside me. I have to continue, not just for a match or two. I think from now on, I can't make any more mistakes. When I think of my career that has gone by, there is a bit of regret.
“I did not bat as well back then as I am today. I thought that had I used my head more in the past Tests and ODIs, maybe I could have scored 500-1000 runs more,” said the left-hander.
While Shakib finished with four wickets, he regretted not having taken a fifth-wicket. A five-wicket haul would have made him only the third player to score a century and take a five-wicket haul in an ODI. However, despite an army of close-in fielders towards the end, Shakib failed to take the fifth wicket.
“I enjoyed batting more. I would have felt better had I taken five wickets, as I have never done that in ODI cricket. I was aware of the records.
“When I was bowling the last over, I was getting nervous that I might get the fifth wicket. There's still time left, so hopefully next time,” said Shakib with a smile.
