Man held with 17kg gold

Police detained a man along with gold bars weighing 17 kilograms at Gabtali in the capital Monday morning.

The detainee was identified as Zahidul Islam alias Zahid, 30, said Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Darussalam Police Station.

A team of police intercepted Zahid near a check-post at about 8:15am following his suspicious movement and recovered the gold after searching his bag, the OC said.
