The Cosmic Lover
(Allah, ke bojhe tomar opar leele)
O Allah, into your endless plays
Who could delve—
You call out to Allah
Being Allah yourself.
When a form you'd yet to need
You were but a lucent seed.
The three worlds then affirmed your skills
In countless shapes and tilts and lilts.
Your exhaled, gossamer
Word— we know as holy writ,
The up-draft flower, down-draft messiah, you
Into Adam's breast breathed it.
Those that have gained self-knowledge
Partake of the Godhead's secret bliss;
Niranjan afloat, that flawless gem,
Lalon seeks in wilderness.
