Celebrate this Independence Day with BDCyclists.They are calling all cyclists to join in the occasion to make it more joyous for everyone. Please Keep in mind -no OVERTAKING , No SPEEDING,  No STUNT during the ride. 
Reporting time: 7.30am;ride starts: 8am, meeting point: Manik Mia Avenue;distance: 15 km.
Recommended dress code: Green or red T-shirt. 

AMERICAN CENTER CINEMA: MICHAEL JACKSON'S THISIS IT

American Center is screening "Michael Jackson's This Is It," a documentary film featuring a compilation of interviews, rehearsals and backstage footage of pop music legend Michael Jackson, as he prepared for his series of sold-out shows.The film show is free and open for all.

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON GENDER, DIVERSITY AND DEVELOPMENT (ICGDD)
Date: 27-29 March 
Venue: Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban, University Of Dhaka, Dhaka
The conference scheduled for 27-29March, 2015 is being organised against the backdrop of renewed conversations amongst the various stakeholders relating to women's inadequate access to, and use of socio economic inputs for empowerment. 
The Department of Women and Gender Studies (DWGS) had planned this conference so that there emerges a collective voice contributing to the ongoing discussions,  intent on framing guideline for gender equality. Based on an understanding of the present priorities the conference is intended to serve as a platform for scholars and activists for sharing their views informed by their experiences in research and activism in their respective counties and/or regions with respect to gender, diversity and development.

GHAZAL EVENING

Red Shift is delighted to host a concert by Shakila Ahmed Tora, a Bangladeshi now settled in California, USA. She was trained under Sanjeev Dey and Ustad Dilshad Khan and has worked closely with Ustad Hariharan in the recording studio. 
She is visiting Dhaka as part of a tour of the subcontinent and she is all set to enthrall the audience with her range of exquisitely rendered ghazals, among them the works of Mirza Ghalib, Faiz Ahmed Faiz and other perennia lfavourites.

SUNDAY MOVIE NIGHT

Every last Sunday of the month Goethe Institute shows independent and experimental films as well as documentaries from Germany. The films are screened with English subtitles. This week's pick is: Kebab Connection, directed by Anno Saul (2004, 96 min).
Ibo is an aspiring filmmaker of Turkish descent living in the German city of Hamburg, who makes commercials for his uncle's kebab restaurant. A clash of cultures and pre-parental anxiety ensues after Ibo's German girlfriend announces that she's pregnant. Ibo makes attempts at getting it right, but as the birth approaches, he's still not ready. In the background is a feud between the kebab joint and a Greek taverna across the street.

Do you have any special musical talent? The American Center presents Music Buzz, a music club offered every other Monday in the American Center library. We welcome all vocalists, musicians and anybody who just feels like jamming to good music. The program is free and open for all.
