What GOES around; COMES around

Fashion in the '80s, '90s and even in the 2000s were very specific. Some things were already there, while others were innovations. Fashion, today however, is more diverse than ever. Nothing is ever truly 'in' or 'out', and every form of styling is appreciated. That being said, many fashion accessories and styles have revolved in the scene with little or no change, proving some styles are eternal and will remain forever as favourites; no matter the decade.

1940S-1950S

The boy brow

Although the fancy term 'Boy Brow' is practically new, the idea is not. Thick, arched, feathery and dark brows, something we all see pretty much every day now, used to be just as big a fashion trend between the '40s and '50s. Although the twig-thin, barely-there eyebrows were a trend for quite a while, it did not do as half a good job as the boy brow and boy are we glad that it is back.

1960S-1970S

Boho-everything

One of the most talked about trends of this decade, the boho-chic fashion was born in the '60s and remained a big trend up to the '70s. Although the details and décor are not exactly the same, most of the boho-chic accessories we see today such as fringes, tassels and silver jewellery are highly influenced by the fashion in the '60s and the '70s.

1970S-1980S

High-waisted bottoms

A retro style loved by all, throughout the decades. The beautiful sleek buttons that nicely capture the waist curve is something we are all fond of, which is why this is one style that has been circling around for more than just a few years. The high-waisted design was highly popular from the '40s to the '70s, with more prominence in the '70s & '80s.

Flared pants

The hip hugging and flared bottoms were huge this year along with all of its acquainted designs, but were just as huge in the '70s to '80s. Today we see many different forms of the bell bottoms or flared pants, in both modern and traditional attires, and sometimes even in formals, mostly because of the feminine touch it adds to the outfits.

Chunky heels

Sky-high platforms and the chunkiest block heels, not only give us height, but also look gorgeous at the same time. One of the best part about these block heels are that they can function as casuals, formals and party wear too. And so, after making a statement in the '70s it is back again to help us elevate our outfits.

1980s-1990s

Although there are many fashion trends from this era we dare not look back at, this decade also holds some of the most iconic trends we will see for long times to come.

Neons

From makeup to clothes to accessories, neons made quite the statement in the '80s, and although we saw a lot of browns and nudes in the past years, they have died down, and the bright hues are back again to throw some colour on our fashion choices.

1990S-2000S

The choker

By now we are all more than familiar with the choker. Last spotted in the '90s, the choker used to be a simple little black piece of velvet. Today we see it in a huge range of materials, from metals to laces; chokers are definitely here to stay.

Crop Tops

Sometimes with a bohemian flair, crop tops are loved by most because it gives the impression of a longer body. And hence from the '90s till today, it is still in production. The only difference is that today crop tops can be found in all styles.

Round sunglasses

Bug eyed sunglasses were quite the thing some years back, but today as we step out; smaller round sunglasses are quite the rage. The iconic John Lennon look is being sported by celebrities and regular people alike, mostly because it gives a nice edge to any look without being too much.

Fashion trends are bound to change with each season, decade and era. But every once in a while, a few of them endure, reminding us they will forever be fashionable and unique whatever the age may be.
