All the Marvels of Beauty

Mirror Mirror  On the Wall Who's the fairest  Of them all?

… seems to be the most common stanza that worries us ladies when we stand in front of the mirror. And we post-haste go back to our childhood years, revisiting the trauma caused by the big bad witch, who almost always resurrects in full force to play with our consciousness.

But thankfully, there's always an easy way out; to beat the mental incision for once and for all, and that is with the help of a communal term that we rampantly use – 'Powder and Paint' a.k.a 'Makeup a la magnifique.'

RED FIREFLY PIÑATA

Makeup is not meant to be a camouflage, but an enhancement to the natural beauty of the human kind. For instance, when you put on that merlot gown and pair it up with scarlet stilettos, you can't face the world without the blood red or the sangria lipstick. Because if you do then there's a high chance the world will wonder whether something has been mislaid. And the complexity continues … it's always a different shade of red for every different occasion. But the basics are always the same, just pair that maroon red lipstick with a light coral blush, closer to a pinkish shade and couple it with the mahogany eye shadow, always a shade deeper to the base colour and you are set for the evening.

You can also be sure about another thing; heads will be turning all night, whatever the occasion!

DISCO BLUE, MY PARTY HUE

Red, white, black and pink — colours that are common and repeatedly used, also colours that have already invoked multitudes of contemplations  for ages. You think of a goddess and red almost always comes in the form of Hestia. You think of the fairy god mother; pink hops right into your mind, but when you contemplate blue, your heart skips a beat because this colour is yet to be explored. For a moment, you are fearful of the unknown and leave it to the mind's eye.

But how long can you leave it to imagination? It's worth the effort to explore. After all, what is life without some variation?

A neon blue lipstick, nails and shadows in the same hue will carry you through through an electrifying night of fun, frolic and disco. Try it out once, and we guarantee you won't regret the aftermath.

NUDE IT IS

While there's no better colour than your original skin, some may argue otherwise. However, ask experts and they'd tell you right away how big a fan they are of the bare and the unembellished. Nudes can be paired with everything, especially the gorgeous outfits with a lot of add-ons. But certainly, nudes are tricky to master and can counterattack if not dealt with properly. That means you can look unpleasant and ailing, even with tons of makeup on. To prevent such an awkward situation, put on the best blusher that matches your complexion after you have pinched it a little, and the lipstick should also complement your skin tone. Eye shadows are not a must, but can easily be put on if you think the colour suits your clothes.

Whatever it is, makeup or not, let the mirror speak for itself again, but this time, only in your favour. Because you know very well that there is nobody on the block who is better looking than yourself.

Let that witch go to hell forever.
