For six yards of sheer elegance

No other garment accentuates the beauty of a woman like a sari, still one of the most favoured outfits for every festive season.

Recognising this aspect of the sari, Mehruna Chowdhury, has started an online store called Glams Galleria offering an exclusive collection of party wear saris. Tapping into the massive potential of online shopping, Glams Galleria aims to help people decide their next party look from the comfort of their home.

Having designed a collection of saris for the occasion of Eid before, she now plans to pursue her passion to create designer saris and also take orders for customised attires.

Mehruna's sari collection showcases her eclectic taste. From opulently embroidered silks to printed Muslins in elegant hues, from cutwork borders to heavily embroidered ones with threads and pearls.

You are spoilt for choices, and if you are having difficulty in choosing between the two then an embroidered half-n-half Muslin and silk sari could do the trick. All her designs are chic with just the right touch of traditional.

To provide a wide range of options to her clientele her designs include Georgette saris with 'Gota Patti' work, hand painted Muslins saris, Zardosi work on soft silk, and hand embroidered lace saris. Keeping the colour palette diverse she has experimented with light soothing hues as well as rich darker shades, Mehruna's designs look equally classy worn to weddings or cocktails.

"Apart from the fact that I've always wanted to create something of my own, one of the primary reasons I decided to start an online sari store is to provide people with unique and exclusive saris at affordable prices. I've noticed most boutiques in the city charge an exorbitant rate for designer saris, I know of people who like their designs but the saris are so expensive that they are beyond most people's reach," says Mehruna Chowdhury.

True to the Glams Galleria tag-line 'You are what you wear', Mehruna provides customised solutions to every sari wearer. "I believe each person has their own unique requirement and I want to cater to that. So, if someone likes my design but wants to change the material or needs me to make any changes to the design itself, I am willing to do that. With adequate time given I will be taking bulk orders for saris required for family and friends for 'gaye holud' functions. My preference is always to sit down with my customers to understand their taste and work with them to ensure complete customer satisfaction."
