Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology hosts 2nd convocation

Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology held its second convocation at the International Convention City Bashundhara on November 27, 2017.

From its three faculties- Faculty of Design and Technology, Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts and Faculty of Management and General Studies, a total of 4,616 graduates (undergraduate 3,463, postgraduate 1,153) attended the event.

The programme was divided into three parts. The first part started with the opening of the convocation and declaring the assembled students as official graduates. Awarding the certificates and medals were held in the next segment. For the final segment, a cultural programme was held where current students and alumni performed. The highlight was the fashion show which was presented by the previous and current students of the Faculty of Design and Technology.

This is the university's 2nd convocation; the previous one was held in 2014. Started in 2003, the private university aims to provide education that is more in the lines of vocational programmes instead of the typical academic, theory based, degree oriented approach. Although a private university, profit making is not on its priority list. Founder Md. Imamul Kabir Shanto takes great pride in his students and wants to see every single one of them shine in their potential. With the motto of 'Creative Destination of the Nation', Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology is bound to become a home for the most creative minds.
