BSMMU approves to run a course on Autism and NDDs

The Institute of Paediatric Neurodisorder and Autism (IPNA) received the approval to run a course on Autism and other Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (NDDs) by the Academic Council of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on 1 April, 2019.

The aim of the course is to deepen the expertise in the field of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related neurodevelopmental disorders, and create a pool of qualified individuals to meet the needs of autism and NDD service providers.

The Certificate course is designed in response to the growing public concern about services for children with ASD and NDDs in Bangladesh. The program enables physicians (who wants to build up a career in child development centre), psychologists, special educators, teachers (special and mainstream school), therapists (developmental and occupational), and parents (who wants to build up career in special field) to acquire the specialised skills and expertise they need to work in the field of Autism and NDDs.

IPNA, BSMMU is hopeful to launch this course on or by this April. It is mentionable that IPNA is the first and only institute of BSMMU.
