Book on Jamdani patterns launched

Traditional Jamdani Design, a book jointly published by National Crafts Council of Bangladesh and Bangladesh National Museum was launched on February 27, 2018, at the Bangladesh National Museum.

This book includes 359 traditional designs and has the interviews of 400 weavers. It should be noted that back in 2013, UNESCO identified the Jamdani of Bangladesh as part of "Intangible Heritage of Humanity." An initiative like collecting the patterns and identifying the various regions is definitely a step in the right path of upholding this unique heritage.
