Bibi Rusell at the Commonwealth Fashion Exchange

For the first time, the Commonwealth's 52 countries are uniting to celebrate the power and potential of artisans for sustainable fashion under the Commonwealth Fashion Exchange project. This project also aims to encourage new partnerships, trade networks and sustainability across states.

Brands from different countries will be showcased through this project, and Bibi Rusell will be representing Bangladesh alongside 31 designers, including New Zealand's Karen Walker,  and Stella McCartney and Burberry representing the United Kingdom, along with twenty six artisans including Euphemia Sydney Davies from Sierra Leone, whose line, Sydney-Davies, has her collaborating with a master weaver from Ghana. They will partner up to create exclusive, one-of-a-kind looks that will be showcased at a special reception at Buckingham Palace during London Fashion Week on February 19, 2018.

An exciting fashion initiative, this project is supported by Kate Middleton and Sophie, Countess of Wessex. It went underway with a press conference at London's Marlborough House on February 1, 2018. The Commonwealth Fashion Exchange is created and managed by Eco-Age, with support of the Commonwealth Fashion Council and the British Fashion Council, and in partnership with Swarovski, The Woolmark Company and Matchesfashion.com.

Once they have their royal debut at the Buckingham Palace, all the outfits will be displayed at a public exhibition at London's Australia House on February 21 and other various London locations in the run up to Commonwealth Heads of Government Summit in April, before heading to New York in September, 2018.
