SHOE GAZING!

When planning a wedding, every detail matters. Even though the primary focus is always on the dress and the jewellery, the perfect pair of shoes can elevate even the best of outfits a notch further.

Throughout your wedding, you will not only be sitting, standing and walking around, but also dancing — none of which will be exciting, or comfortable, without the proper footwear.

For starters, shoes must fit! A wrong size or shape can leave you to contend with a niggling pain — making it difficult for you to enjoy your special day.

No doubt you want to stand tall on your wedding day, but those extra two inches should not be at the cost of you falling, or hurting your feet. Choosing a size of heel that you are comfortable wearing is the smart thing to do.

Opt for footwear with insoles for extra cushioning to help you stand longer and use arch supports, if you have a deep arch, to keep the extra pressure off the ball of your feet or heels.

SPARKLE ALL THE WAY

Embellished, or glittery heels is what first comes to mind when we think of wedding footwear. Feel like a princess on your wedding day as you flash diamante or Swarovski footwear with every step you take.

GLAM IT UP IN COMFORT

Embellished ballerinas are the best way to be comfortable and look fashionable. Available in stunning designs, colours, and textures — they look good and give you no foot trouble.

WEDGE IT

For those who need some extra inches, but cannot bear to wear heels, wedges are what you are looking for. They give you a good height boost without all the foot trouble. Wedges decorated with zardozi make ideal bridal footwear.

DEPENDABLE NUDES

If understated is what you are after rather than flaunting, footwear in nude colours will definitely add to the oomph factor. Nude stilettos with peep toes, or a tapered front, look eternally classy.

JUTIS AND NAGRAS

If you want to go the traditional route, then these are perfect for enhancing the ethnic look. Jutis and nagras are available in various luxurious fabrics like silks, brocades, and velvets. Whether simple or embroidered, wearing them will definitely add a touch of elegance to your attire.

Depending on your budget, you could either stroll down elephant road to buy your bridal footwear, or head to stores like Bata, or Gallerie Apex, among others.

All of them combined provide you with ample choices, and ensure that you will not return empty handed. A few other places of interest would be the store Shimmer in Banani, which caters specifically to bridal and party footwear, also KR — a footwear store in Gulshan, which has some trendy designs that brides on a shoe-hunt should check out.
