Five ways to chinos

People always tend to look for the easiest way out. If you are struggling to score a goal in a football match, you tend to look for a handball inside the D-box to win a penalty. If you feel too lazy to type, you ask Siri to message your friend. The Chinese people had realised this human behaviour years ago and hence tailored chinos for us.

Thank God for the soldiers of the 1890s who introduced these as uniforms and the Ivy League students of the 1950s for popularising it; we are enjoying the perfect garment which is a middle-ground between jeans and dress trousers. With these, styling your outfit for any occasion is child's play.

Baywatch

What is the first thing you think of when you think of Baywatch? We are thinking about the beach, period. Chinos provide you with the comfort with their lightweight nature and breathability, prompting you to wear them for hours without breaking a sweat (literally). For days when it gets super hot and walking out into the sun scares you, simply fold your chinos up and slip on a pair of boat shoes along with a half sleeved linen shirt. Seeing this, the sun will hide behind the clouds.

The School of Rock

Let's face it, putting on a nice outfit almost every day for class can be a mammoth task. Mostly, you have to prepare the day before, to look chic. However, the versatility that chinos provide can sky-rocket your everyday look from the bottom to all the way up to the moon.

Feeling lazy? Pop on a t-shirt along with sneakers. Have a date after class? Rock a slick shirt with chinos and sneakers or even loafers. Have a presentation? Shirt, tie, chinos, and oxfords —the perfect match for summer.

Date Night

Whether it's a date to White Canary or Kiyoshi or Takeout or Cineplex or simply a walk anywhere serene and peaceful, chinos will follow you everywhere. Not like a creepy stalker, but as a friend. You can obviously dress up your outfit with the same chino you wore to the movies and then dress it down for a stroll as comfort and style are both ensured. How can people not love this garment!

The Intern

Congratulations, you have graduated and have now left behind the best days of your life to being run over by the working-zombie apocalypse. Internships can be stressful, with immense work load along with looking presentable at all times. Let's face it, the first thing they will see when they meet you is not your work ethic and skills but how you present yourself. Hence, chinos allow you to wear them with formal shirts and ties. Since you are still an intern and it is best advised not to opt for a suit, wearing the aforementioned is the next best and recommended option. Ask anybody, you will start hating the idea of wearing suits once you start wearing them 5 times a week.

The Great Gatsby

Pairing chinos with a blazer, sports jacket or a linen jacket can elevate your style and speak volumes about your dress sense. Garden parties, dinner parties, parties of any sort, weddings or sometimes even to work — such an approach will complement formal events.

With the wide array of options chinos provide, it can be easily held as an important style staple. They give you elegance, versatility, and confidence and with the variety of colours these come in, you are given liberty to experiment and play with your look far more than any other option.
