Men's Wear Defined

The 21st century is honestly a blessing for men. They can no longer be considered being backwards in fashion, rather there has been a rise to certain potency in their sexuality and gender with a revolution in clothing and style. An increase in influential new designers has questioned the fundamentals of apparels and has led to a novel line of clothing style for the postmodern male. In the past men's fashion has been always thought to be static, and fluctuations were few and uncommon. But things are changing as men are transitioning towards clothes that no longer only bore out of need but showcase high class and elegance.

Faded vintage style jeans

Wearing baggy blue jeans for your entire life is very mundane.  That's why worn-in denim with a spot of thigh showing around and few lines of fray seems to be quite different and in-style at the moment. It can be carried off best with bright coloured sweaters to contrast the distressed blues.

Sport jackets

Winter has approached us slow and steady and there's no better time to opt for a sports jackets. The perfect sports jacket should be lightweight, unlined, and unstructured with minimal shoulder padding and a thin flexible canvas. They are a foundational element of classic menswear and traditionally a sports jacket or blazer is considered a casual item; a weekend alternative to the business suit that gentlemen wore throughout the workweek.

Fitted T-shirts

Fitted T's have a sensual appeal attached to them, showing off the best in a man's physique. Aside from exuding confidence, it also nicely highlights a streamlined body if you have worked for it. Fitted T's are ideal for casual wear, even with sports jackets. Buy it in abandon and mix and match to create versatile outfits with fitted T's.

Athletic wear

Every once in a while, maybe a Friday afternoon or Saturday brunch you could try shifting a little further into the casuals by trying out athletic wear. Trade the regular T-shirts for a fitted trousers and tops and ensure that your entire outfit is not in one bold colour. Stick to neutral shades to pull off a naturally rugged outlook.

Suit n' Tie

There is nothing more appealing than a man wearing a perfectly tailored suit with a tie. A suit has always been a traditional symbol of male masculinity, and pairing one with an elegant tie creates a graceful look. Ensure that the suit is well tailored.  Too tight or too loose a suit will damage the entire outlook. Keep it minimal with accessories which mean no shiny pocket squares and cufflinks.

Dressed down suit

If black or grey suits become too formal for the event, then try a tad dressier outfit with bold colours like cerulean blue. This still lies on the formal side of the spectrum, with a funkier outlook.  It can be best worn with t-shirts and nice sneakers. You can contrast jacket and pants.

Chinos

The light weave of fabric that constitutes chinos make them much less likely to wrinkle than some other styles of pants. When ironing is necessary, it is often quick work. Chinos are much better for professional work day activities. It is also excellent for formal events, including dinner parties and weddings or casual evenings.  Either way, chinos are extremely versatile and can be worn in bright colours from navy to olive green. Just remember to have it slightly tapered and rolled up at the hem.

Blazer

Blazer once again is a fusion of both casual and formal wear. You can wear it on a date or to work if you want to be slightly trendy. Blazer is definitely a wardrobe staple, it is breezy and in style when worn with neutral coloured T-shirts and dark-washed denim.

V-neck sweaters

These are often deemed as slightly feminine, helping to portray the wearer's softer side. It lightly built and so can be easily worn anytime between autumn to late winter. During office work, you should stick to one neutral colour like solid grey or beige sweaters. On casual occasions, try out the different variety of colours and patterns from olive green to navy blue. It looks best when worn with a button down shirt to pull off a rugged look.

Khakis

Khakis are functional, comfortable and can be worn in any season. The common concept that dictate khakis to be high waisted, pleated and baggy is simply not correct.

A more modern style is a flat front, with a straight leg or a little tapered from thigh to ankle and all around more fitted and tailored look. Khakis come in almost every colour these days however the traditional drab brown colour remains always in style. Navy coloured khakis also look very classy when paired with a button-down shirt or sports coat.

Flannel shirts

Flannel shirts are yet another wardrobe staple available in different colours. Traditionally, flannel shirts existed in the checkered patterns so the rest of the outfit should be kept minimal so that your shirt continues to be the highlight of your outfit.

Red and the black flannel shirt look classy when paired with skinny jeans and trainers. But, it also looks great if you decide to wear one bold coloured flannel shirt, for instance green, grey, white or brown. A black flannel shirt is a perfect substitute for regular black shirts during winter. It will keep you both warm and stylish when paired with rinse jeans.

There has been a large revolution in clothing, particularly for men's clothing in past century. In terms of fashion, there has been an addition of layers, stripes and well-tailored clothing materials into the wardrobe of the masculine gender. Now you could not be more wrong to say that men's fashion is limited.
