Fashion predictions for a midsummer Eid

As we welcome a brand new Ramadan and Eid this summer, we also embrace an array of new styles, looks and combinations waiting to take over our old wardrobe. Some trends will go right out of the window, while few others will be greeted with open arms. With that in mind here are some fashion predictions for Eid-ul-Fitr, 2018 presented by Star Lifestyle.

Eid Hues

Lots and lots of primary colours! These look right out of your childhood colouring boxes. They look powerful and strong, and so will anyone wearing them. Think stunning blues and blooming reds and the boldest shades of yellow. Being bold is key in pulling them off, but when you do, be ready to have all eyes locked on your outfit!

Say goodbye to pinks and hello to lavender! It is time to put all that millennial pinks and peaches aside, because 2018 fashion will be ruled by lavender, and this summer is no different. Be it in a suit, a funky skirt, or your casuals. Be prepared to see a lot of this colour on the roads and in stores.

Other than lavender, also prepare yourselves to see lots of super cool-toned pastels. These cool toned shades resemble different ice-cream flavours, providing a cool touch to the hot summer and Ramadan days lying just ahead of us.

Gravitating towards patterns

Give your Eid attire a contemporary upgrade by mixing in some rich shades of plaids. From runways to the streets, different combinations and colours have been seen to come together all in the form of plaids, so it is time to dig out your old ones, and maybe add in more to stand out this Eid.

Botanical Florals

We have already become familiar with the shabby chic, distressed floral and the tropical floral prints. The latest floral trend maybe the cleanest and freshest version of the everlasting floral prints and we call it the bold and bright flowers.

On the runways it is called the botanical florals. Whatever you decide to call it is up to you; but these prints are here to stay; kind of a 90s comeback if you will.

Dancing Borders

Tassels and fringes have been blowing us away since the beginning of the year, and nothing much has changed for the upcoming Eid and summer collections. These over-the-top fringes in coats, dresses, skirts and shoes will definitely add the much coveted fun element to the Eid attire.

Feathers and Furs

It has been a while since we have seen these, but that all ends now. Feathers and fur are back and our outfits have never looked comfier. From the over-the-top furry sandals to feathers hanging down dresses, this will be one style to remember for times to come.

A for Athleisure

This is a dream come true for those who love fashion yet seek comfort. A technical way of clothing by mixing in joggers, sneakers and other athletic wear in everyday casuals to have a very functional and fashionable outcome, and we simply love it!

Denim for Days

'It is safe to denim' was a huge hit in 2017, especially ripped jeans. And although we are still feeling the rough outlines, do not distress your good ones just yet. The polished and tailored dark denim might just be what you are looking for to give you a clean silhouette this summer, especially Eid.

Night out Ensemble

Crazy embroidered outfits are expected to take a break this Eid so we can all enjoy fresh and structured dresses that provide good comfort but also retain elegance.

Eid Accessories

No outfit looks complete without the right accessories, and messing this up can lead to a complete fashion disaster. Velvet, tassels and bold pieces are some of the things which stood out in 2017, and the experts think these are here to stay for 2018 as well, so expect to see a modest amount of these in the sores for the upcoming Eid.

That would be all our major fashion predictions for this summer. One thing to remember is that styles may come and go but your personality remains the same forever.

Don't try out any style that you do not feel comfortable in. While the rest of the world maybe doing something else, you can always rock your own style all the way through. That's being uber cool!
