Bohochic versus Classics

There is something we like about trends; they always come back with a new beat!

Fashion trends of the past are termed as Classics and often rightfully so because they are immaculate, unique and super hip.

Take for instance the era of the 60s - the winged eyeliner, puffed hair and short kameez; not a single style statement that we want to let go of. Hence, the return of the styles and the obvious brouhaha!

But does this commotion mean that we'd surmise to replication without any use of thought?

Not necessarily, because with the change in times, styles have also progressed and the best way to remember the past is to key-in a bit of the present and hence the ascent of the Bohochic.

The Bohemian look or the modern fusion goes perfectly well with our nouveau riche lifestyle and the liberated sense of mind.

There cannot be any better alternative to dhoti shalwars and frilled tops with a deshi avatar. It is comfortable, chic and gives out a no-nonsense vibe to the audience.

However, there is also a certain segment of the population who defy accepting any sort of deviation or variation to the Classics and there's absolutely nothing wrong with their traditional way of thinking!

These are the people who have kept the customs alive for centuries. It is for them that we still have an inclination towards majestic Shararas, Ghararas and the ceremonial Anarkalis.

There is a popular saying that goes by 'when in confusion follow the tradition' – and you never seem to be out of place.

So the next time you attend a function, try wearing your mix and match dhoti- kurti or your traditional short kameez paired with bell- bottom shalwar or a churidar; you'd definitely be able to grab everyone's attention in any of the fashion trends you follow.

Because style ultimately resonates your confidence; as long as your fashion statement feels comfortable - you'd always be IN VOGUE to the rest of the world.
