Be your best beautiful this Eid!

A lot of times people tend to misconstrue the true purpose of looking good. Being beautiful is not just skin deep; a person's appearance influences his or her demeanor, self-esteem and mood among many other things. Looking good is strongly tied to feeling good and happy about one's self, and there is not a better time to put this exercise to use than the much-awaited festive season!

This year, trends in the beauty world not only make one look good, but also feel great with their simple yet glamorous nature. What's more, all of the looks do not take much effort and can be done by anyone. So without further ado, keep reading for Lifestyle has brought together the hottest looks for Eid this summer, just for you!

Skin is the first aspect of any makeup and one that needs most attention. The importance of having clear skin is paramount, as it means one can get away with little makeup. Keep your face fresh and blemish-free by cleansing and moisturising it religiously. Protecting if from the sun is the next step and should not be skipped.

Next, let's talk about base makeup. The heat and humidity levels are shooting through the roof this year, which means the base should be kept as lightweight as possible, your skin should be able to breathe and the natural glow of skin should be seen. A primer will keep the skin from getting oily and hold the makeup in its place.  Thick, cakey foundations of yore have been replaced with BB, CC creams, mousse foundations and tinted moisturisers. These products are easy to apply, provide great coverage and stay for long hours, as well as being comfortable to wear.

If you have blemishes, dark circles, redness or random patches to hide, use a concealer that's a shade lighter than your complexion. Pressed powder should be used to set the face and keep shine at bay.

For the festive season this year, the eyes will get bold and glamorous. For daytime festivities, elegant, sparkly shades such as champagne, pistachio, dull gold and silver look soft and stunning. It is the feline flick done with liquid eyeliner that is the highlight of this look.

A cat-eye or full-blown winged out flick coupled with long, fluttery lashes look very stylish and is perfect for the day. A pop of bright colour in the inner corner will add sparkle to your look; experiment with cheery hues such as green, turquoise and teal.  The classic smoky eye has been revamped by softening the edges, and the ubiquitous black shadow has been replaced with colours such as aubergine, emerald, sapphire and slate. These colours are softer than black, but look dramatic and wondrous when smoked out. Use a blending brush to blur any harsh lines.

Contouring is a trick that used to be reserved for theatrical ramp makeup once upon a time. Not anymore though; one does not need genetics to attain supermodel cheekbones. A matte bronzer applied lengthwise in the hollows of the cheek with instantly contour the face, adding definition and drama. Apply blush in a happy colour such as coral, bubblegum pink or warm apricot to the apples of the cheeks. Dust highlighting powder on the high points of the cheeks, temples, the bridge of your nose and chin. These simple tricks will transform the way your face looks instantly, elevating your makeup from drab to fab within minutes!

For lips this year, bright, bold shades are all the rage. Juicy, berry shades that are soft and gentle look chic and sophisticated, while corals and bright, orangey reds look sweet and summery. Soft yet strong pinks are also very hot; look for matte textures instead of gloss.  All of the aforementioned looks are very easy to do at home and do not require professional-grade tools or skills. Armed with these latest trends, you are bound to be the belle of every ball this Eid!
