Aranya's Ekushey attires

In remembrance of the Language Movement, Aranya has designed a special collection of panjabis, saris and kotis.
Black, white and red have been the choice of colours. Ekushey February is a day of mourning for the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our mothertongue, and hence the use of black, white and sombre tones. The use of red symbolises the sacrificed blood, rebellion, glory and a new dawn. Even the Shaheed Minar often has a red sun behind it.
In terms of design, Bengali alphabets have been used to create floral motifs. From a distance, they look like normal floral motifs, but when you look closer, you see the Bengali alphabets that have formed them. Celebrated fashion designer and artist Chandra Shekhar Saha was involved with the design team in creating the attires.
