The scuffle – seen in a now viral video – involving some passengers on board a London-bound flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines transpired over one passenger's leg touching another passenger sitting in the next row.

Biman's Managing Director and CEO Dr Abu Saleh Mostafa Kamal today told The Daily Star that the incident happened on the national flag carrier's London-bound flight on May 25, 2022.

The direct flight took off from Sylhet Osmani International Airport, he also said.

Describing the incident as "embarrassing", the Biman boss said that it's very unfortunate that some Biman passengers behaved in such an indecent manner.

Asked about the incident, the Biman CEO said, "We have come to know that it all started when the leg of a passenger touched another passenger who was sitting in the next row."

Dr Abu Saleh said the Biman cabin crew acted as per the standard operational procedure, and informed the respective authorities after the flight landed at London's Heathrow Airport.

"Seven passengers involved in the scuffle were detained by the respective authorities at the Heathrow Airport and legal actions were taken against them," the Biman MD also said.

In the video, it was seen that one man was using offensive words and engaged in a scuffle with two female passengers.
