Tourism fair starts from March 2

The three-day-long Bangladesh Travel and Tourism Fair (BTTF) starts from March 2.

The 11th edition of the tourism fair will be held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital.

Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB), the leading organization of the country's tourism industry, is organizing the fair.

Toab President Shiblul Azam Koreshi gave this information at a press conference at a hotel in the capital today.

Tourism organisations and tourism associations of various countries including tour operators and travel agents from India, Nepal, Maldives, Sri Lanka, UAE, Vietnam, Japan and Turkey will participate in the fair.

The fair will be open for visitors daily from 10:00am to 8:00pm. Entrance fee to the fair is set at Tk 30. However, students will not need any fee to enter.

According to the organisers, the title sponsor of this fair is First Trip.

Director (Trade and Fair) of Toab, Md Anwar Hossain said that initiatives have been taken to make this fair more attractive than before.

He also said that international and domestic airlines, tourism boards, travel agencies, tour operators, hotels, resorts, cruise liners, hospitals are also participating in the fair.

There will be 146 stalls and 14 pavilions.

Shiblul Azam said the main objective of this fair is to create awareness about tourism and its sustainable development.

This year's tourism fair is aiming to create great enthusiasm among businessmen, domestic and foreign tourists and all those related to the tourism industry. This fair will expand the tourism industry of Bangladesh and play an important role in the economy of Bangladesh, he added.

Chief Executive Officer of Bangladesh Tourism Board Abu Taher Muhammad Jaber, Chief Executive Officer of Unique Hotel and Resort Limited Sakhawat Hossain, Chief Operating Officer of First Trip Hasnain Rafiq, among others, were present at the briefing.
