The breath-taking beauty of the coastal town of Lakshmipur leaves a deep mark on the mind of any person. Rivers and nature make the coast of Lakshmipur beautiful.  

However, Lakshmipur can also be a treat for all you travel aficionados out there. The best thing about Lakshmipur is that most of the points of interest are in such spots that you can probably fit most of them in a day's itinerary if you plan your timetable carefully.

Altaf Master Ghat 

Altaf Master's Ghat is built in a picturesque rural environment in the remote area of North Charbanshi Union of Raipur Upazila of Lakshmipur.

Nature lovers and travellers are always flocking here. People from different parts of the country including the capital are always crowded to see its natural beauty.  Altaf Master Ghat is located on the banks of Meghna river.

 Here the visitors are mesmerized by the sound of the river, the beautiful view of the tide, the boat passing by and the chirping of the birds.

 After that, crossing the middle of the river and reaching it is like completely merging with nature.  The joy of watching the sunset. 

 The best time to visit here is winter.  Because the environment here is not so good in any other season.

Dalal Bazar Zamindar Bari 

This zamindar house is related to the naming of the Lakshmipur district. It is believed that the Lakshmipur district was first named after zamindar Lakshmi Narayan. However, the Lakshmipur city was not there from the beginning. It was a village at first. Then in 180, it was upgraded to Lakshmipur Sadar Police Station. Besides, it was declared Lakshmipur district in 1984.

Dalalbazar Zamindar Bari is one of the oldest structures in Laskhmipur. The zamindar house adjacent to Dalal Bazar, located along the Dhaka-Raipur Road, about five kilometres from the Lakshmipur district headquarters, is a great attraction for visitors. The zamindar house of Dalalbazar, which is three hundred years old, is still standing as a witness of tomorrow.

Alexander Meghna Beach

Location of Char Alexander in Union No 4 of Ramgati Upazila of Lakshmipur District.  During British rule, an English gentleman named Alexander was working as revenue collector in Ramgati Aceland office.  The union was named Alexander after him. Char Alexander (Char Alexander) is currently one of the tourist areas of Lakshmipur.  Many people come here every day to see the beauty of Meghna embankment and river built under the supervision of Bangladesh Army.

 Green fields all around, waves of the Meghna crashing on the embankment and the immense beauty of nature, one can find a touch of tranquillity.  If you have some more time, you can also visit Suvarna Char and Nuru Patwari's Char Alexander Ghat.  Spending an afternoon in pure nature and returning home with the sunset will give you a lot of relief from the monotony of the busy life.  And here you can find yogurt made with buffalo milk, you can try it if you want.

Food Club Char Jalia is located at Saju Molla Fish Ghat.  This place is on the banks of the river, and is also a fish wharf where fresh fish from the river is bought and sold.  You can go fishing with a bow in a boat.

 The fish caught by the fishermen from the Meghna river is sold at this ghat.  The food club at Saju Molla Fish Ghat is arranged in such a way that tourists can enjoy all the beauty of the Meghna River while eating inside.

There are many opportunities to experience typical village life.

As-Salam Mosque 

As-Salam Jame Masjid has been set up in an exceptional model at Ramgati in Lakshmipur.  The specialty of the mosque is that it is lit by natural light without electric lamps.  It is located in Sheikh's Killa area of Charporagachha union of the upazila.  The mosque was built under the initiative of Rahima Mumtaz and Saif Salahuddin Trust.  Education complex has been started around the mosque.

In the mosque, the worshipers could enjoy both the touch of rain in monsoon and the chill of mist in winter.  But no one will burn in the heat of the sun and no one

will get wet in the rain.  Moonlight on full moon night spreads enchantment inside the mosque. 

 There is no window in this two-storey mosque.  It is designed in such a way that light and air enter inside without any obstruction.  But there are two magnificent doors for the worshipers to enter and exit. Visitors flock from different districts of the country to see the exceptional mosque.

How to go to Lakshmipur from Dhaka

Lakshmipur city is generally travelled by road.  Dhaka Express, Econo Service, Grameen Service, Janani Paribahan, Royal Coach and Miami Air Condition are among the vehicles that depart from Dhaka to Lakshmipur.  These vehicles depart from Syedabad Bus Terminal during the day and Jhigatla, Mohammadpur, Mirpur-10, Uttara and Savar at night.

 Chandpur launch terminal can be reached by sea from Dhaka Sadarghat launch terminal. Buses or other vehicles are available to go directly to Lakshmipur from Chandpur.
