Save rivers from pollution

Rivers are the lifeline of Bangladesh. Bangladesh used to be a country of rivers, but they are dying day by day because of pollution and land-grabbing. Toxic waste from factories are causing enormous damage to our rivers.

Bangladesh Poribesh Andolon (BAPA) has said that the acid, alkali, heavy metal and pigments from factories are not only polluting the surface water but also our underground water reserves.

It's commendable that the government has come up with a policy to conduct river dredging and recover lost rivers and canals. Additionally, the existing laws should be strictly implemented, so that the rivers can be preserved or resurrected.
